MATTISSE |
Summary
Mott MacDonald has delivered multi-modal traffic and travel information in the West Midlands via desktop, website, mobile phone, kiosk and public screens. The MATTISSE system serves a consortium of Local Authorities (Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton).
MATTISSE manages data from sources including urban traffic control centres, police control offices, public transport operators and the Highways Agency. The first MATTISSE system went live in 1997 and was one of the first UTMC systems. Over the course of the following 5 years the system was supported and developed by Mott MacDonald.

In May 2002, M3, a joint venture of Marconi Transportation (telent) and Mott MacDonald entered a long-term Partnering Agreement with the MATTISSE Consortium, structured to drive MATTISSE to become a high profile multi-modal travel information service for the Midlands.
The system collates and distributes, for both operational and public use, many types of real-time travel information, including traffic incidents, road-works, CCTV, as well as bus and rail real-time information.
