UTMC

Launched in 1997, the UTMC programme is the UK Department for Transport (DfT) main initiative for the development of a more open approach to Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in urban areas.

Mott MacDonald participate in the research programme from its inception and was the prime contractor for the UTMC10 project “Achieving UTMC Integration Through a Common Database” and a participant in UTMC02 “Traffic Management Across Jurisdictional Boundaries”.

We delivered the common database for the UTMC29 Preston demonstrator under contract to Lancashire County Council. As the programme moves out of the research phase, Mott MacDonald has continued its support through membership of the UTMC Suppliers Forum and chair of the Working Party on Data Objects.
